About Us
Heather Andersen and Michael Graham planned their first vacation to Playa del Carmen in 2001. Little did they know they were about to embark on a torrid love affair with the area that would result in several subsequent trips back to the funky little town they adored. By 2004, they realized they could no longer bear a life of pining away for Playa del Carmen, so they sold nearly everything they owned, packed up two suitcases each, and waved goodbye to family, friends, and the brutal Chicago cold.
As luck would have it, they acclimated quickly and soon found their place in Playa’s diverse expatriate local community. Heather has worked for the popular tourist informational website and forum, Playa.info, for over 3 years and continues to moderate on their forum. Michael has worked and continues to work for Caribe Sunrise’s sister (and mentor) property management company, Mexico Escape. Both are active supporters of local charities and fundraising for the Bomberos, Angel Notion, the Peanut Pet Shelter, and friends/acquaintances in need.
After several years, two dogs, and a house load of crap they don’t really need, they’re starting to realize that wearing flip flops to work every day has worked its magic.
It looks like they’re here for the long haul.
